Green Orchid | Green Tea
Available online only.
A flawless and forgiving exemplar of Anhui green teas. Light in body with natural floral grace, it radiates pristine simplicity. Its impressive quality is easy to understand.
Produced the first week of April 2023, “Yue Xi Cui Lan” is a new style of tea invented in the 1980’s. It hails from the Dabie mountains of Lu’an City, Yue Xi County, Anhui Province. “Cui Lan” translates “Green Orchid” and the name is appropriate. It’s a one leaf and a bud pick from the Shu Cha Zao cultivar growing at approximately 2,300 feet. The processing steps of this tea are quite unusual as they involve blanching > hot air tumbling > traditional pan-firing > charcoal-fire basket drying. The results speak for themselves.
