High aromatics of brisk citrus. The mouthfeel is assertive, yet agreeable. A bright cup reflective of orange rind and peculiar flowers. Zest without the lemon. Not heavy, but not subtle.
Made by Mr. Lin Zhi Min on April 15, 2022 on Phoenix Mountain in Guangdong province. It’s a 1 bud 3-4 leaf pluck from the Phoenix Shui Xian cultivar growing at 2,200 feet. Dan Cong means “Single Bush.” Traditionally, Dan Cong teas were made from a single tea bush with each bush getting its own unique treatment as an individual lot of tea. Though the majority of teas in the region are not produced in this manner, making tea from a single bush can still be found in the Chao Shan area of Guangdong province – the home of Dan Cong.
