Ceylon Monsoon 1st Flush | Black Tea
5.0 (2 reviews)products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
This lot of tea is SOLD OUT. We have a new lot on the way!
This first flush tea is true Southern Ceylon flavor. Though the cup character of molasses, hazelnut, and honey is charming, the richness of the liquor is worth the price of admission. The surprisingly high aromatics deliver power and radiance in the finish. A rare and excellent tea.
Only eight kilograms exist and this lot is even better than the last! Produced by the R&D team at Lumbini Tea Valley on February 18, 2026. This is a one bud, two leaf pick of first flush material of the TRI2026 cultivar growing in their biodynamic experimental tea garden. The material is selectively harvested from plants that have been pruned back and allowed to rest for seven months, allowing them to store nutrition that makes for a vital and vibrant energy in the cup. The picking is done with scissors rather than hands to protect the leaf structure and each batch is hand-rolled to release its oils gently. The care put into this process is second to none and we’re proud to support the Lumbini Tea Valley in their efforts to preserve specialty tea in Sri Lanka.
