Customer photo review of Lonely Oarsman Dan Cong | Oolong Tea

"Strong fruit character" is an accurate description of this tea! Juicy mango sweet with hints of brown sugar are the first flavors that roll over the tongue. The color is a light orange honey, the body leans towards the heavier side, the mouthfeel is coating and delightful. A lingering nose of orchid flowers peppered with vanilla. I use mid to lower temps to brew this gong fu style. 6-7 cups easily.

This is currently one of my favorite teas. It emphasizes the fruity elements of dan cong but also has a hearty body. It is full of character and just as good on the second steeping as the first. Of the other dan congs I've tried it most resembles Honey Flower, which is also a great tea, however this one takes the cake for me.

The flavor of the "redwood" is very enjoyable! Usually I dislike the flavor of roasting but in this tea I love it. And of course there's a great fruitiness that is the most prominent tasting note.
